Epelipsy, however you spell it, is not a pretty thing!!!! None of my children have it Thank God, but one of my dogs do, so therefore, whenever he has a seziure the night is pretty well shot!!!
Bruno, my black lab, 100 lbs plus, has his seziures in the most "unsafe" places known to man ~ on the edge of the bed, under the computer desk, in a small corner that only "Geratric baby" can fit in.........so "I" have to fish him out, calm him down, and stay awake until it is completely over!!!
Tonight, hubby snoring in the background, as loudly as I could without alarming Bruno, as you aren't suppose to be loud when a seziure is in progress as they could turn on you, I tell Steve I need help!!! I hear how he is searching as fast as he can to find some file, correct the problem etc etc etc........I finally yell WAKE THE ****** UP NOW!!! I need HELP!!! Well at least I know he is dreaming about computers and not women right HUMPFFFF
He wakes up long enough to tell me, Gezzzzz James you don't have to yell what's the problem........:angry!!! Oh nothing honey just looking to get laid *VERY EVIL LOOK*!!!
Steve is safely tucked away snoring away again, Bruno is just now coming out of his seizure so I have about another hour of letting him inside and out again, water, food and the like. I upp'ed his meds already and given them to him ~ Mr. Gerateric dog, aka Dustin is wide awake and walking the floor, and I've picked up a few messes from him as well, the night after I cleaned my carpets.....:angry!!!!
It is my choice to have my furry babies with all their problems and the like, but sometimes, just like kids, as I choose to have, they have REALLY BAD TIMING!!!!!
My vet gets after me all the time about Bruno and his seziures, saying, "Jamie, don't get down there with him and talk to him, he'll turn, he knows not what he does!" Okay I'll give you that, but that is the ONLY way I can pull BB out of one is to get down there with him, whisper in his ear "mama is here honey, it is okay, concentrate on mama". His eyes focus in on me and he calms down and starts coming out of it........
I know it is dangerous because he could just as easily be concentrating on taking my damn head off, but that is a chance I will always take with him to pull him through this.
I've been told by my vet, I'll lose Dustin, my geratric cocker spaniel who is 17 years of age, from either old age or kidney failure. And Bruno according to my vet, I'll lose from a sezirue. Hello NOT ON MY WATCH!!!
Charlie, my Shar Pai and Chance our Chow/Collie mix are healthy horses!!! I know they are dogs, but hey don't tell them okay; male ego and all you know :wink.
I don't bond well with animals or people, but when I do, it is a life issue ~ I'm there to the bitter end........so going through this with two of my dogs is brutal treatment for me.
Josh darlin', I'm sorry about the brutal cut off while we were talking, but you know how I am about ALL my babies!!!
Well he has managed to calm down a bit and I'm going to try and shew him into to bed with mama and try and get some sleep......tomorrow will be a better day.
"M" is for Mother NOT MAID

Epilepsy is not an easy situation to deal with (no illness is really). You seem to cope well though.
