After wandering through some of my regular reads, and for the record, glad to see you back posting again "T" and "L", as well as, a heated conversation "T" and I had on the phone today. Damn woman we seem to be having a great deal of those lately......:lol.......I decided I'd pose this question for everyone....
Do you think that Church and State should be seperated? And if so, then explain to me why "Pro-Lifer's" can wind up before a Supreme Court trying to make abortion illegal under the guidelines of "religion"? And if Church and State are really "seperate" why can't same sex marriages be recognized except in the state of Vermont?
Drugs are a completely different elimatent *however you spell it*, as drugs, regardless the drug, and more now than ever alcohol being in that mixture of "drug", as it is associated with violate crimes, rape, murder, gangs, etc etc etc.......
I'm by rights a very reigious person, I believe in God and his power, and I'm a God fearing woman, however, "I" believe many people take it over board. "T" can vouch for the fact, I'm not a bible thumper, for crying out loud, I do good to not take a drink when my parents *which for the record my daddy is a preacher* come to town, however NEVER in front of them. They could search my house high and low and NEVER find a lick of alcohol in this house, I'm very good at hiding things :smile many years of practice I guess. Why don't I drink in front of my parents as an adult? RESPECT plain and simple RESPECT........enough said..........
Now I want to hear rants, views and the like about the seperation of Church and State and if you really feel that America seperates the two FOR ALL CAUSES or just "SELECT" one's?
MY INNER CHILD IS A SASSY LITTLE BITCH TOO

Jamie, this is the link I was telling you about
http://www.wgn.org/Senate.htm
personally I think the whole 'separation of church and state' is bull, it depends on what party is in power at the time and what they decide to do...and I'm going to stop here before I write a post in your comments!
Seperation of Church and State,
First, I would like to know where you came up with the saying "Seperation of Church and State?" Do you know who said it and exactly how that person felt on the issues of religion?
Also are you saying that abortion and same sex marriages should be legalized nationally because of the relation to religion in the first ammendment? The basis for these being illegal is that people believe these to be morally wrong. American standards of right and wrong are and have been derived from the Bible. Without the Bible there is nothing to tell man what is right or wrong except the government. And you and I have seen that the laws of the government can easily be changed. Therefore, without the Bible, why not legalize murder and rape and incest and child pornography and drug abuse? What is wrong with doing any of these things? Again, without saying that these are immoral or illegal you can give no answer.
I feel that your father being a preacher would be very disappointed in you and if he is a Bible believing preacher, you should talk to him and he will be able to explain to you further.
Separation of Church and State: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."
- The First Amendment -
Created out of the fear of a group like the Puritans who wanted to make their religion the *only* one, and persecute others. It's now the only tool we have to protect ourselves from extremist agendas.
I can't belive people of god would be so undeniably stupid. Legalize rape???? I cant even imaginae that you are that ignorant. These crimes your using as "examples" to prove YOUR point of view are illegal because they cause physical harm to other indiviuals(you know....VIOLENCE) NOT because they are immoral. Its people like you and stuff like that, that makes people turn against the church! You just want to hate people that are different than you....lets face it.Noone is being physically injured by two people commiting to sharing a life together. Have you actually ever met a gay person? Some of them are actually quite nice. Its like straight people, some are nice and some are not.
I seem to have confused some people with my rant. I READ ALL the posts and was reacting to the one posted in december by i everman. Here I'll quote it so anyone who doesn't know where I got the thing about rape can see where I got it...(even though it's only one post above mine)So here is the unbeleiveable quotes from that post(Ive cut out the beginning to save a little space, but its right up there if you wish to READ the thing in its entirety ....
