I was checking email before heading off to bed "finally" when I ran across this email ~ which I'll copy and paste

11-month-old Black Male with brown eyes and black hair was taken from his home in Shreveport LA at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday July 22 last seen wearing a white pull over shirt.
The child has a liver disease and needs his daily medication.
Police are looking for Romaine Ruffins, AKA Billy Ray Jones a Black male 5'10", 165 lbs,. He is considered violent and dangerous. Ruffins was wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and a black stocking cap. He is 6'1" tall and 170 pounds. He has access to a gray vehicle with Texas tags (unknown make and model).
Anyone with information is asked to call the Shreveport PD at 318-763-2583 or dial 911.

Sad but true, my first thought was, MY GAWD this is getting out of hand with spam mail, but curiosity got the best of me to check it out ~ so I clicked the link ~ then thought if this is a prank they have gone to great means.....so caused me to check further ~
I ran across this article ~ it appears the Amber Alert is not only going to be via tv and radio anymore ~ it is also going to go across emails and telephone's ~
Personally, that is a phone call I won't get pissed off hearing because one never knows if this type of formulation of information could save one of our own children.

How do they come up with the e-mail addresses for the alerts? Do they send them out nationwide?

Well, I do hope they find the child, but with the wealth of rubbish on the net, had I seen the message I doubt I would even have read it. I am likeley to have simply deleted it. They have taken the net and corrupted it with so much garbage. (Hmm, I'm sure that there are some who feel the same way about blogs too.)
