Talk about really chapping my hide!!! This issue strikes a nerve with me!!! Why you ask??? Well in a nut shell because I'm accused of doing that by the "lesser" indivduals in my life........
Are you afraid yet???? :biggrin!!! Well in reading my favorite magazine Real Simple, I ran across an article called Tricky Food Etiquette. It describes how you should get rid of items like pits and or tails from shrimp at a cocktail party. If you are a higher class than I you probably already know this information, but considering, I'm a champagne lady on less than a beer budget, cocktail parties and myself don't cross paths often :smile.
Anyhoot, to the Etiquette items I found in the article. I can not find a place to link the article so I'm going to type it out and give credit to the author and magazine.
Well I'm crossing everything humanly possible to cross that Little Ms. Prissy Princess is FINALLY on the mend!!! Since she has started school she has had one sickness or another since the end of August. I've spent more time in a doctor's office over the past few weeks than I have ever cared to spend. However Little Ms. Prissy Princess thinks the doctor's office is the bomb. Personally, I think it is the constant dotting of the office personel in her direction, the suckers and stickers she gets and her trying to prove mama stupid from the photo's hanging on the wall. How does a 4 year old know so much about the human body??? So scary!!!
Anyhoot, I don't have much to discuss, but I do have some great jokes to share. I've finally weeded through my email from the past two weeks....
As you are probably quickly figuring out things were never boring at our house. My parents swear that the house could be completely quiet; the animals sound asleep, the phone silent until I walked in the house. Then everything would completely crazy for the remainder of the night. The only pleasure in hearing this only meant that me being grounded for life was just as miserable on them as it was on me. It was only a simple pleasure but a pleasure still the same.
So grab your favorite :cocktail at the bar, sit in the comfy chairs, and read on if you are truly interested!!!

I may not have won the war, but I made sure I won more than a few battles in my childhood. My parents always said they couldn’t give me an inch because I’d definitely take the mile. Most the time that was very accurate, but there were times that I was just tired of trying to out scheme them and that is when I was able to win battles. Timing is everything; too bad I have to date, still not figured that lesson out.
Believe it or not I'm working on a very very good post, which has NOTHING to do with my childhood for once, be happy trust me!!! It is an issue important to me not because of my beliefs, but because, it affects one of my dearest and most loyal friends. Regardless of my beliefs, I'm open minded to a degree, and I have had my eyes opened to this issue...........stay tuned.......I"m still in edit mode on that one :biggrin.

With all the bad news that has bombarded our newspapers / TV's/ radio's and the like ~ I found another article featuring the little girl who caused me to cross my legs that I posted about the other day.
It is good to read about something uplifting once in awhile :smile.
Now since my faith in man kind has been restored ~ I have family and friends along the Carolina coast hunkering down for the storm due to hit sometime tomorrow. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers for their safety. Yet, I just heard, the location of where it is due to hit my parents are going to be in it's direct path.

Well after months of trying to get together it has finally happened. The Texas bloggers finally got together face to face!!! We had been planning this for about two weeks and kept joking something was going to happen where it wouldn't happen ~ well :lol several things happened!!!
Now, if anyone doubts that God has a sense of humor, you so need to meet my parents. I mentioned in Chapter One how the joining of their forces could make any child’s youth a living nightmare. Especially if misunderstood as much as I was growing up.
Birth control!!!! Okay!!! USE BIRTH CONTROL!!!! Yeah I know it is 2 somthing in the Central time a.m. and I'm still awake ~ ask no questions you get no lies ~ okay maybe from Speedbump ~ but well he is male!!!

All I have to say is this ~ becareful what you wish for as it just might come true :smile. As promised, the begin part of my writings. Stay tuned for the "teenage years" of the story ~
My story begins in Omaha Nebraska. I was a lucky child, adopted by a minister and a schoolteacher who dreamed of becoming parents. They were already proud parents of a two-year-old son, whom they adopted from the same agency where, for good or bad, they got me. My parents have always told me that when I was handed to them, they were told; I was going to be a handful and give them a run for their money. I guess I lived fully up to those expectations. My personal view on that matter is if they had never gotten me, they would have lived very boring lives as my brother is a bit of a stick in the mud.
It was brought to my attention this morning that I have posted a poem I recieved via email without permission of the author. The poem was titled on my blog A Woman's Day.
The author of this poem and I have exchanged emails and I have obtained permission from her to keep the poem with making some corrections that had been altered through the lines of emails.
I am posting about this here because we are all guilty of posting jokes/poems/stories and the like where it states at the bottom "author unknown".
After this, I know I'll be more careful of how quickly I am to copy and paste to my blog for fear that I could be using someone else's work and not giving them credit. As a friend said to me today, I'd not like someone using my writings without being given the correct credit.
By the time anyone goes back to refresh their minds of what post I'm talking about I'll have made the corrections to have it back to it's orginial written form along with the author's name on the end of that entry.
MISTAKES ARE INEVITABLE ~ MAKE THEM, DEAL WITH THEM AND THEN MOVE ON
I ran across this story and had to laugh because it would be something Little Ms. Prissy Princess would do I have no doubt!!! Q15 tried his hand at it when he was five, but the scene was a wee bit different. I was at an ATM machine and he was sitting in the car watching me, like we all do ~ I finished my transaction and turned to get in my car as I watched it start rolling away with my son's face plastered to the window screaming.
I can laugh about that now, but then it was not so funny let me tell ya!!! Q15 decided he wanted to know what the stick in the middle did which so happened to be the gear shift. He put it in the middle and I was parked on a hill and there the car goes rolling. I managed to run the car down and get inside on the drivers side before anything terrible happened but that was a day I didn't need coffee to wake up and function let me tell ya!!
As far as my writings, I'll post some soon, I'm in deep edit mode right now on them ~ so one never knows what I'll come up with once I'm in edit mode.
THE OLDER WE GET ~ THE FEWER THINGS SEEM WORTH WAITING IN LINE FOR
I recently had several conversations with a "fellow" blogger about having blogger's crap about posting ~ please note I usually always give credit where credit is due to conversations, however, this was a "private" conversation so no links will be added or names for that matter ~
In our discussion, we were talking about my aspiration in life. How we actually came to that topic is beyond my wee blonde brain because I really try to keep serious topics off the table, but well hello, this conversation happened.
It was then where I mentioned me writing about my growing up years and my parents already had read it and found it entertaining, as well as several friends who have suffered thru the disertation, that this friend stated why not post some of those writings on your blog.
That has actually been a few days/week or so ago. I'm blonde and don't keep track of time so sue me, but ever since this friend stated this to me, I've considered it.
But my, mmmmmmmmmmmmm, what is the word, mmmmmmmmmm, first word that leaps to mind is warped, but still searching and for the record no comments from the cheap seats okay!!! :angry
In essence, I"m asking my general readers, should I have any of those, their views to add along with my friend?
I can already hear ~T~ moaning now, OMG she is in "edit" mode. Yet, I think even my dear friend would agree, I'd have to edit what is already written to be posted here on my blog or else T-Bone, being last man on the totem pole would have a hard way to go for server space :lol.
Okay maybe, well most definatelly, I over stepped my non spelling boundaries with T-Bone, gezzz think about it between him, T *our gracious host*, and Buffy, Speedbump okay a non issue for server space. Sorry hubby had to say it ~ and myself ~ we are what tv stations call a non commodity in comparison. Our ratings sucks......... :lol
So I'm basically asking ~ anyone interested in reading about some of my childhood fullishness?????????? Don't feel guilty about the whole ratings bit but it sounded good at the time :biggrin...............

Well I have received this month's copy of "Real Simple" magazine, I just love this magazine. It actually was Buffy who turned me onto this magazine but it gives great tips on a little of everything. In this month's issue I ran across where one can obtain access online for further hints. During my browsing the "online access" I found an article titled "Everyday Ethics".

Summer!!! The official weekend for sending off summer has just come to a close. Mind you, I know it isn't "official" by calander standards, however, this was the weekend in my youth that brought summer months of fun in the sun to a close until my toes could curl in the sand again.
Well since I didn't have the luxury of sending the summer off lying on the beach and feet in the sand, the send off wasn't a total waste. Just not my first choice of send off's :smile.
