Switching Life Up A Bit Around Here

This past weekend Q15 and I had mother and son date. It was very enjoyable. We left out around mid afternoon to catch a book signing at the local Barnes and Noble where it was listed that Laurie Moore was going to be in attendance. I've posted about how much I enjoyed her book I read and she just recently came out with another one. However, when we got there she was not the one in attendance. I was very disappointed, but didn't let it alter my task for the day. So Q15 and I walked around looking at books and discussing what type books we enjoy reading and why and I got some great Christmas gift ideas. :smile

We left out of Barnes and Noble and decided to grab some lunch. Q15 LOVES Olive Garden and he asked if we could go there - so I agreed. We spent the next hour and half or so enjoying a nice lunch and plenty of talk about life, wishes, experiences and enjoying our time together. We were going to go catch a new movie called "Radio", however, our waiteress was slower than a old person with a walker, so we missed the show time. I told him if he wanted we could go home and go out later that night for the next showing and he said "No, lets just go home and rent a movie and curl up on the couch eating popcorn." So that is what we did after we both took a long nap - he one couch me on another.

Then on Sunday the whole family spent time together laying around, talking and playing and watching family related TV programs. However, hubby had to get in his "Cowboy" football fix - HA they lost and BADLY - did my heart good!!! :biggrin.

Hubby and I decided that we needed to spend more time like this and me spending more private time with Q15 since Little Ms. Prissy Princess pretty much dominates everyone's attention around this house.

We had a suprise that one of our friends was in town to see Alan Jackson in concert so we also enjoyed their company in the mix of all this relaxing weekend.

Speed seems to finally be adjusting to his medication and back to his normal self so that is good. However Sylvia the mere mention of you saying you'll fly over in your nurses outfit made him reconsider how good he felt in hopes he could con you into actually following through with it :lol. I think he just wants to see you in that nurses outfit if you ask me.

Next weekend is a busy weekend also - Friday is Halloween - Saturday is *hubby doesn't know it yet* but preparing to paint the master bedroom and prepare to paint the Barbie Snow Princess design in Little Ms. Prissy Princess room and then moving to Q15's room painting a baseball game in progress. And Sunday is the Washington Redskin and Dallas Cowboy game - Speed pulls for the cowboys and me the Redskin's :biggrin. We are also hoping our friends will be in town for this game which will make the weekend very interesting.....

Anyhoot - domestic duties call - hope everyone had a great weekend -

Oh that is so nice to do the Mom-Son dates. The weekend before this one I went with my two older sons to see "Brighton Beach Memoirs" a play of a portion of a young boys life (in the 40's).

Your painting plans sound Ambitious, to say the least! Who is doing all the painting? Show pictures when you have it done!

Not as ambitious as it sounds, our bedroom, which is the first task, easier of the three, will be a joint effort between hubby and I and less than a days project since half our room is done in wall paper and the other half in paint.......as far as the kids room's - I'll do the majority of that work with the murals *however you spell it* but easily done with a preview projector - what I will have to do - ohhhh gezz to complicated to explain I'll post about it *big grin* and when I'm done I will provide photo's!!!!!

Q15 will remember those times with you. Me and my mom did things like that while I was growing up. Very special.

One time we were eating at Olive Garden and the waitress came to our table to ask if I was done with my plate. The thing is, I had a forkful of food going toward my mouth, with some left on the plate, too. Figured they were running out of clean dishes. Funny, right about then I realized I'd run out of tip money.

Family time together... nice! Sounds like it'll be a busy weekend. Enjoy yourselves.

Jamie, even at my age now, I miss very much those times I shared with Mummy. Even before she passed away, there were times (before she got sick) that I would crawl into bed her and watch an occasional Lifetime TV movie. Keep it up, life is too uncertain.

Poor Speedbump...I feel for him....with the household chores!
