Busy Busy Week!

| | Comments (1)

Well I began my part time job this week and am really enjoying it! Although I'm in the training stage, learning a new computer program is helping my mind feel active once again.

The hours are really working into the hetic schedule around here and I'm once again on the move constantly!!! I'm really enjoying feeling alive again other than feeling like a house mother :biggrin.

Interesting To Listen

|

When your kids come home from school and tell you about discussions that happend during class on dates in history. Well I learned alot today from Q18. Most important thing he actually listens ~ :woo ~ second apparently the teacher had the same reaction I did when he announced to me about the discussion!!

Q18 comes home and sits down and ask "Mama, do you think 9/11 was a consipirsy of the government?" Me shaking my head I say "What?" He asked me again and I said "no I don't believe it was a consipirisey of the government, do I believe that the government had some knowledge, yes I have thought that all along and it has been proven that in the commission report that the Cliton administration did have and ignored the threat of 9/11" Then he asked me did I believe that Neal Armstong was actually the first person to walk on the moon or did they film it in a stuido in California. By this time I'm shaking my head asking him what on earth was he talking about and where would he get an idea like that?

Common question for me since well lets face it Q18 can come up with some far fetched ideas/thoughts/ and phrases that leave many shaking thier heads in disbelief!!!

Anyways more to the point that was a discussion that transpired in his government and journalism classes. He told me that most of his class stated that 9/11 was a government consipirisy and that Neal Armstrong did not walk on the moon.

So my natural response to him was "and you said or thought or verbalized???" He said he just sat there and listened saying nothing. I asked him what did the teacher have to say and he said the teacher just asked in a "persepective" type of discussion "Did they believe the holocaust (however you spell it) happended" that is the only thing they all agreed did happen.

It just amazes me how things change yet stay the same in the mind set of people. It is also very frightening to say the least!!!

On today's date that has been burned not only in our memories, but our hearts I want to take a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives no matter their skin color, beliefs etc and for those whom are serving our country to protect our freedom and those whom have lost their lives protecting our country. Lives have been lost, families have been broken and heart broken, regarless who they died children are without a parent/s and parents are without child/ren. Today should be a day of honor, memory and gratefulness.

Today and always we honor them all!!!

Ever Had One Of Those Days?

| | Comments (1)

Well, I'm having one of those days over a several year period!!!! There is a saying that God only hands out more than you can offer, however, this is getting more than ridiculios (however you spell it). It seems like every time I claw my way to the top and over one hurdle thinking I might have some time to stop and get some water to drink and enjoy the smell of the flowers. Only to find out I have another hurdle I have to dig my nails into and climb some more ~ throwing hands up in defeat ~ I'm tired ~ I'm aggervated ~ I want to be able to drink some water and smell the flowers at least for a week before having to begin another steep climb in my life!!!!!

I just feel like the world is having way too much fun in watching the demise of myself and it is happening sooner than later ~ when it is complete I sure hope then who ever; whatever etc gets to enjoy the bliss I have yet been able to enjoy for longer than a day at best!!!!

I sure hope that other's have better days and day than I have been fighting through!!!

My Computer Feels So Empty!!

| | Comments (1)

Well today I began to download some updates to my new photo program. For the first time since I've owned this computer (about 9 years) I get a message not enough disk space!! :pummel So I try several times only to get the same error message :scared. Speedbump offers his services to "dink around" on my computer to try and fix it which I immediately state NO!!!! :greenchainsaw

So I begin to start copying files to disk. Who knew how much space photo's take up :tounge. Then I started on my desk top which will make T very happy!!! Then I begin the deletion of programs I never use, however, I found that Napster will NOT allow being deleted. That program is still there FOR NOW!!!!!! Yet not for long :throwcomp :smile!!!!

Then I started orgainizing my favorites list. Wow I had a great deal of junk in there, not it is not only deleted but orgainzed. Now I just hope I can find my links when I need them :lol.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Saint Patty's Day!!!! I must run for now to finish downloading my cool stuff in my photo program :smile!!!

It Appears Time To Update..

| | Comments (1)

However, I have to do a wooo hooo call out, I ranked a visit; okay at least a comment left; from ~e~, damn I feel luky!!! :mouse Seriously, glad to see ya ~e~ hope life is treating you and yours wonderful!!!

Well, in our household, if life wasn't busy enough for us, baseball season kicked in full force!!!! Just this week alone, let's see if I can break down our disfunctional life.....................Speedbump, away on a business trip in Atlanta the first part of the week. During that time, for the first time in our married life, we had to arrange, take to school, pick ups, gymnastics, baseball practice, baseball games; which were suppose to be home and due to field issues wound up away; leaving me scrambling to find places for Little Ms. Prissy to go on school nights so I could go to games, get home, get Ms. Prissy, get her to bed and homework, feed Q17, calm him down get him to bed. Then my night began.....laundry, cleaning house, taking care of the other children whom were on complete strike and dysfunction.....yes the dogs. And somewhere during all that mania speed and myself talking for 5 minutes at best to discuss the days events..............

The saga continues.........

Ms. Prissy has a break down missing "daddy", Q17 thinks I'm an idioit and challenges me and my authority, he lost badly, Ms. Prissy looses another tooth, and somewhere in all this I have to figure in time to work from home. HA

Finally Speed makes it home safely, says another thank you prayer!!!! Ms. Prissy is up before 6 a.m. as she missed her daddy, but daddy has to be gone by 6:30 a.m. the next day after getting home close to midnight . No time for mom and dad.......up at the crack of dawn for the begining of a baseball tournment weekend!!! Starting of course TODAY!!! Neither Speed nor myself were able to make it to games today, but tomorrow, during my work schedule I had to schedule after school pick ups for Ms. Prissy, rides to the out of town tournmantes for myself, Speed working on bids needed in ASAP and Speed and I looking at each other in wonder of where does it end..........

Then to add to the already hetic schedule a phone call comes in from a scout pushing us to committ Q17 to his team for the summer. Not this early in the game, and so many other high possiblities out there from last year, I'm not committing to anything yet!!! Especially at the price being asked!!! Ms. Prissy's melt down due to pure exhaustion, the scout not taking the hint causing us to say WE HAVE TO GO NOW!!! Q17 and boys wandering in and talking about the games tonight........and recaping the scouting talks from the night before I had with 5 major league scouts about Q17.

Yet at the end of this gripe, you are right I wouldn't trade it for the world. What I've learned through all this caous.......I actually do love my husband and would be locked up by now without him :lol, my eldest pride and joy is excelling, growing and beyond all I could have dreamed for his future............he is working for his DREAM!!!! My yongest pride and joy, although right now feeling jilted and neglected, is excelling in gynmastics and social life, she is beautiful and about to turn SEVEN in less than 2 weeks..............where does the time go????

In summary, life is busy, hetic, confussing and frustrating as all get out in a nut shell, but when one lays down and closes one's eyes, it is with a smile, heart full of love, and tears of joy...................my kids are HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not all bad, now mama needs to work for her dream if she can ever remember what that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tootles everyone :kisses

Christmas Is Now Over

| | Comments (2)

And the end of 2005 is coming to a close! Hopefully 2006 will ring in a better year for everyone! Our Christmas was spent with family and friends, quiter than usual, but a wonderful Christmas just the same.

My parents were here for about a week in a half before Christmas and left to make the long trip to spend Christmas day with my brother in South Carolina so that he wouldn't be alone. Then Speed's Grandmother came in and spent Christmas with our family and left for home yesterday. So the week before the New Year is to be rung in I'm trying to get my house back in order and clean, in hopes that will motivate me throughout the year of 2006 to keep it as clean and in order as I like. Or at least motivate my piglets to help me out in keeping our humble abode the way I like it!!! :biggrin

My garage looks like a natural disaster zone with all the boxes that hold decorations and more boxes from packages arriving from Christmas. We can barely fit one car in there any longer and that is only because I do get a bit fussy when I can't get my car in the garage. I know go figure!! Yet it gives me a change to reorganize how it is stored and seperated by holiday so it is easier to pull out of the attic on the needed occassion.

I told both my kids that we needed to go through all their "no longer interesting" items so that we can ship them off to other children whom are in need of things. Clothes are a big thing I need to clear out, there are days that I truely believe that I could open my own clothing store should the urge strike me. I'm thinking of sending all these extra not needed items we have around here to the home from where I was adopted. Waiting to get the information I need to do that.

News on the batcave ~ she is still in bad shape ~ I'm waiting to hear from either her or hubby to find out how things went at the doctor today. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers as I"m terribly worried about the little shit!!!

Well that is about all the news I have to share from our neck of the woods. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will have a happier New Year!!!

Tootles!!!
Jamie

WOW where to begin!!! Life is never dull at Jet's Place! However, let's see if I can break it down some for those limited readers I have out there.........

Just Random Items

| | Comments (1)

Last night before falling asleep I was watching the news because of an upcoming Special Report on Cellulite that caught my interest. So after it's airing and hearing about the different products and greatly disappointed that I will probably always suffer from this unless I pay out the nose for it. I heard another pending story to be aired after commercial. This one is a scary thought!!!! The scariest part of this story is that it could happen to anyone no matter what the case. Just thought I'd share some of the news items I've found interesting.

As the count down continues for the trip home ~ Studly *as I refer to my eldest now* brought me some photo's that I ordered from the banquet last weekend. These were taken during the game played at Ameriquest field so I figured I'd share one with whom ever might be reading.......

Here is studly in action ~ remember this Slyfox?? You were there :smile

And then I ran across this one of the Prissy Princess the night before the banquet........her in all her true glory!!!

Finally A Chill In The Air

| | Comments (1)

After all month it feeling like summer around here, the last day of October there is finally a chill in the morning air!!!! I also realized this morning after reading Buffy's post, that it has been since the first day of the month since I made a post. *bows head in shame*

Well at least I saved up for news and stuff :smile

So here it all goes!!

This That and Even More Dribble

| | Comments (3)

Well today, after walking around in the feeling of being thought of as in my 20's, even if only by one person, that dream was shot to hell!!!

My son hit me up about obtaining his licenses this summer ~ surely I'm not old enough to have a child ready to begin leaving my house on his own accord much less DRIVE!!!! NO NO NO !!!! This was asked of me before COFFEE ~ what on earth are my children thinking?????

Any Movers Out There?

| | Comments (4)

Well I woke up this morning and looked around my house and the first thought that ran through my mind was, WHAT ARE WE THINKING!!!!

Life is really kicking into over drive around our house ~ we are moving into a larger house, MINUS a pool :mouse!!! It is really only about 2 miles from where we already live, but the mere thought of moving things is MORTIFYING!!! Crossing my fingers and praying to win at least a portion of the lottery tonight to pay for movers to come in pack it all up and move it over there for us :smile.

I've always said I have wayyyyy too much shit, well ~ IT IS OFFICIAL ~ I have too much shit and I haven't begun with children's rooms yet :cry!!!! And then to top things off we'll be moving during March Madness, oh well, my satellite doesn't carry the channels any longer, or at least at the moment so no biggy I guess *sniffle*. Ohhh and did I forget to mention, both kids will be out for spring break. Yeah this was well planned out :lol

On a lighter note ~ I'll leave you with a little joke my in-laws sent me today ~ wonder if they are trying to hint I'm not in a good mood lately :shrug .

Women..... A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry
has revealed that the kind of male face a woman finds attractive can
differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For instance,
if she is ovulating she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine
features.
However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she is more prone to
be attracted to a man with scissors lodged in his temple and a bat
jammed up his ass while he is on fire.

EVERYDAY I BEAT MY OWN PREVIOUS RECORD FOR NUMBER OF CONSECUTIVE DAYS I'VE STAYED ALIVE!!!!

What An Amazing Night!!!!

| | Comments (4)

Well I experienced my first "hockey game" tonight. The "Stars and the San Joze Sharks".

First, I must admit, I am not a fan of hockey. My theory, okay before tonight was, men putting on skates with hockey sticks was just a more high powered version of football or wrestling.

Neither here nor there, hubby has two clients whom had GREAT seats for the game tonight. They insisted that I come along, as they said there were going to convert me. Well I must admit they did a GREAT job. I HAD A BLAST!!!!! I'm going back for another game actually :smile!!!

What even made the night better was meeting up with my old next door neighbor as she was there also!!! She looked GREAT!!! We shared hugs and tears and also informed me on Friday we have a coffee date :mouse. She also gave me a HUGE hug with tears on the eve of the most major loss of my adult life, as far as animals go, my Dust Mop!!! March 8th, 2004 will be a year that my world was ROCKED!!! And not in a good way.... *footnote ~ she is also the one who made arrangements to have my Dust mop cremated and she personally brought him back to me!!!*

However, I'm fortunate, I had LOADS of support, from family and friends to help me through this up heave that any dog owner must endure, however, and most importantly, I'm luckier than most, I had 18 years with my Dust mop.

This weekend has been a lot of reflection, a great deal of happiness, a lot of worries for my friends, but at 1:20 a.m. March 8th the day of my life being readjusted, I feel happy, adjusted and content!!!

Thanks to the friends whom FORCED me into this hockey game, which by the way if you follow hockey the STARS WON 4-0. I also meet some Nascar fans, Kristi will be happy about that issue, whom we had a long talk about the different tracks, which I also think Kristi would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall on that topic....but even Speedbump said "damn I didn't think you knew that much". *pats self on the back on that one :smile".

We get home and I have a very very enjoyable and never too often enough phone conversation with Buffy, one of my "MOMS", and she helped me see some issues I've been wrestling with in the correct light...........but one of our conversations revolved around the movie "The Passion".

All in all this weekend has been hectic, but enjoyable and heading off to bed, I know I have family whom loves me, friends whom love me and a hubby and children whom think I hung the moon. As I drift off to sleep.....life gets no better than this!!!!!! Maybe the difference of my day today and outlook on life consisted of attending church this a.m. ~ with a wonderful service and the feeling of life was just beginning!!

I'll end this post, not only for myself, but for other friends whom have lost pets, they know who they are and they also know this verse ~ and YES this is the first time I've read it but it is time ~

"Farewell, Master, yet not farewel, Where I go, ye too shall dwell.
A moment's time, a little space. When ye come where I have stepped Ye will wonder why ye wept."

Farewell my darling Dust mop, if only in my heart, you are so very much alive and still to date loved!!!

In memory of Dustin ~ *if this is sized right great if not deal with it* the last photo of "MY Dustin" in 2003 three months before his passing......

Rather I'm Ready Or Not

| | Comments (10)

Wed's becomes my first official day back in the work force, even if only part time :smile. I got the call tonight while over at my inlaws having dinner asking my availability to begin work starting Wed thru Sunday.

I'm excited, nervous, anxious and still excited all bundled into one. I haven't worked in an actual work force setting since marrying Speedbump 6 years ago ~ I've had the luxury of being able to find odd jobs working from home during our first 6 years of marriage. Now since both kids are in school I wanted to expand those limitations and become a working mother if only part time.

It has been hard finding a job that will actually hire me on with my "limitations" of time constrants *however you spell it* due to two different children schedules and not wanting to go to work and paying day care.

I hope this works out to become successful not only for our family but for the company as well, but only time will tell. :smile

Wish me luck everyone!!!

Well it is time for me and my bed to become one hope everyone had a wonderful weekend ~ tootles for now ~

Ohh last but not least, under begging and protesting, believe it or not SPEEDBUMP is actually making a post to his blog!!!! :biggrin

I DON'T APPROVE OF POLITICAL JOKES ~ I'VE SEEN TOO MANY OF THEM GET ELECTED

Dribble From Texas

| | Comments (1)

I was just reading over at my Doctor's blog :smile and although I'm not catching up on his site, his comment about blog "talk" has been on the downward slope is true. Especially around this site ~ it seems I've been posting mindless dribble and guess what ~ today will probably be no different :smile.

Just Call Me Betty Crocker

| | Comments (6)

Yes, I shocked my hubby last night. Baking use to be my passion years and years ago, however, since Speed and I have been married I barely bake anymore.

Well Little Ms. Prissy Princess preschool the parents have to sign up to bring snacks for the class. My day just happened to fall on the day they are celebrating Valentine's day since they are out of school next week. Yippy Yi Ya ~ the teacher informed me that I needed to bring cookies and milk ~ okay I can handle that :smile. Then she dropped the bomb shell that I needed to bring cookies that they could decorate themselves. Okay things are starting to grow more complicated. :crazy

So I go through all my receipes to find sugar cookies ~ I don't feel like heading out to the grocery store to get some of the items needed so I decide on tea cookies :smile. Anyhoot, last night consisted of me making the dough and cutting out little heart shaped tea cookies and baking.

When done, hubby picked one up and ate it and said "Damn baby you do know how to make cookies from scratch I'm impressed". Okay can I slap him NOW thank you very much!!!

Little Ms. Prissy Princess was so excited this a.m. to show off her cookies and all her Valentine cards that she made for her class ~ it was a pain in the ass to say the least ~ but watching her this a.m. so excited and bragging it made it worth it.

More good news on the kids home front ~

And one of them will be landing soon too :lol T'sey arrived safe and sound to her destination ~ they finally found one another ~ after *not mentioned* couldn't "find the spot" :wink. She saved face *no pun intended* and lips were locked and electric is about to flicker :lol

Ohhhhh they are going to kill me remember THEY ARE JUST FRIENDS ~ but the are away from the computer so I can some fun :lol

Feeling Human Again

| | Comments (1)

Well thank goodness for that!!!! :smile This past weekend we had a houseful of people and loads of drinking was going on and not short on great laughs either. The photo's are under lock and key and guarded by attack dogs :biggrin!!!

Yesterday the last of the group flew out, but most the day we just laid around trying to recover and decided ahhhh what the hell, and started drinking again :smile. I think I'll be sticking with ice water and coke for some time now.

Just got T'sey off to the airport for her vacation ~ hummmm wonder if she's excited :lol.

I was over at Desiree's blog and read the article about "Birth Order". I found it very interesting and thought I'd share with whom every skips across here. I can see me being both the oldest and youngest in the order it describes. Basically, I'm the oldest by my biological parents, but never knew that until a few years ago, but raised the youngest. However, in my children the descriptions fit those two to a tee!!!!!

Well since I killed several brain cells this past weekend I think I'll just wind up this post ~ hope everyone has a good day ~ I know two people that will :wink

Gotta Be Smarter Than Technology

| | Comments (4)

Well that already counts me out of the running :hum. Anyhoot, Speedbump won one of the new phones, aka cell phones, Motorola V400 camera phones. So the past few days I've been playing around with it basically trying to figure out how to use the stupid thing.

I barely have any of my numbers in there, however, I do have the important one's already load with voice activation, which I think is the coolest feature. And to make my life easier it actually works with all the accessories I already have on hand for the phone I'm giving up.

Sending Out A Thank You!!!

| | Comments (6)

I must admit T is so good to me :smile. I LOVE the new design and appreciate all the work she has put in for me :smile. I have to admit I keep her busy on the design issue when I told her I wanted a new one she laughed and said what for "Valentine's Day" ~ :blush which I quickly said "hey I had not thought of that plus it is too early" :wink

Regardless a BIG THANK YOU to T'sey :kisses :hug !!!

Since my life is more than a bit boring I'll just sum up this thank you post for Missy T with some words of wisdom from Maxine :biggrin ~ enjoy!!!

gc_direct_maxine_med.gif

1. Maxine on "Driver Safety" - "I can't use the cell phone in the car. I have to keep my hands free for making gestures."

2. Maxine on "Life" - "Life is like an oven. It burns my buns."

3. Maxine on "Housework" - "I do my housework in the nude. It gives me an incentive to clean the mirrors as quickly as possible."

4. Maxine on "Lawn Care" - "The key to a nice-looking lawn is a good mower. I recommend one who is muscular and shirtless."

5. Maxine on "Body Piercing" - "I'd get my tongue pierced, but I still have a little bit of brain left in my head."

6. Maxine on "the Perfect Man" - "All I'm looking for is a guy who'll do what I want, when I want, for as long as I want, and then go away. Or wait nearby, like a Dust Buster, charged up and ready when needed."

7. Maxine on "Work" - "My performance at work has really improved over the years. Now I can nail a co-worker with a paper-clip shot from a rubber band at 20 yards."

8. Maxine on "the Technology Revolution" - "My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice."

9. Maxine on "Aging" - "Take every birthday with a grain of salt. This works much better if the salt accompanies a large margarita."

The last one I really like ~ :shrug go figure :smile!!!

I'm like my mother after all!!! Now there is a thought to wrestle with let me tell ya :smile.

Note: First let me clear something up from a previous post ~ About The Thrill Is Gone ~ it didn't have anything to do with me/my marriage/or Speedbump ~ sorry to have confused anyone ~ it had to do with some issues that friends of mine were dealing with and I wrote that as an enforcement to the advise I gave them to think about ~ sorry about the mix up :biggrin. The parts I made reference to me and my decision I made in my life were speaking of my life "BEFORE" Speedbump. It is amazing looking back at how many stupid "relationship" decisions I made actually so that is what I was refering too about don't be me ~ aka stupid decisions!!! Speedbump ranks on a great deal of list with me, however, the stupid decision list is not one of them :biggrin. Now on with the original post about being my mother ~

How do I come to this analogy?? Ohhhh actually very easy, remember all the things in life you said you'd never do when you grow up ~ :lol ~ amazing how you wind up doing the same things isn't it????

My Kids Never Cease To Amaze Me

| | Comments (1)

Tomorrow is officially the end of their Christmas Vacation :happydance and I'm not the only one who is doing the :happydance so are both my kids :smile.

Little Ms. Prissy Princess has been doing the count down for a week now and Q15 is anxious to get back to school to socialize. Apparently most of his friends have been away over the holiday. :walk_sad

I also found out women are not the only one's addictied to a phone. Q15 got his own private line for Christmas and he has been locked in his room either on the phone or trying to reach someone on the phone since it was placed in there. I've allowed him this time, but when school begins tomorrow, that will cease to be his life it is also time for some serious family time.

It has been awhile since we've sat down after dinner and played UNO or some board game and I'm in the mood to kick some ass :biggrin.

As you can see not much to discuss on here tonight just wanted to pop in and say a big :wavey, however, since such a boring post, I'll leave with ya with a joke :smile.

One day, the wife comes home with a spectacular diamond ring.

Where did you get that ring?" her husband asks.

"Well," she replies, "my boss and I played the lotto and we won, so I bought it with my share of the winnings."

A week later, his wife comes home with a long shiny fur coat.

"Where did you get that coat?" her husband asks.

She replies, "My boss and I played the lotto and we won again, so I bought it with my share of the winnings."

Another week later, his wife comes home, driving in a red Ferrari.

"Where did you get that car?" her husband asks.

Again she repeats the same story about the lotto and her share of the winnings. That night, his wife asks him to draw her a nice warm bath while she gets undressed. When she enters the bathroom, she finds that there is barely enough water in the bath to cover the plug at the far end.

"What's this?" she asks her husband.

"Well," he replies, "we don't want to get your lotto ticket wet, do we?"

Have a good week everyone :wink!!!

After The Thrill Is Gone

| | Comments (5)

As you can tell I've got a lot of serious issues on my mind bringing in the New Year, personally and otherwise! This post is an "otherwise", but knowing I've hit the nail on the head, and with permission of course, I'm posting my views now.

Read further if you dare ~

Conversations ~

|

Had some great and interesting conversations tonight ~ three ways and at one point a four way conversation :biggrin. We here in the Texas area have a "lingerie" party happening in just a few short weeks :smile. So we are firming up plans and the like, however, I'm shopping early due to the fact that Frederick's is having a sale ~ I need some input ~ read further if you dare with my "wish list".

For those who are going to shake their heads, you might get bored quickly, but there are "some" who will be glued reading my view of their New Year's. :biggrin

And what better way than by analogy by song and whom better than the Eagles in all their wonderful years of glory to offer bits of advise through their lyrics???

If interested ~ keep reading :cocktail I know of two who are going need that :cocktail :biggrin!!

Learn Something New Every Day

Well, Little Ms. Prissy Princess is finally on the road to recovery :biggrin. However, Bruno *our black lab*, went and got sick on us too. So off to the vet we went today, he had to get his shots and routine blood work done anyways. I am telling the vet his symptoms and explaining how everyone around our house has been sick and our youngest has strep along with the flu. The vet informed me that dogs can not catch what human's have nor can human's catch what dogs have, however, with the strep virus, some dogs can carry the virus and give it back to a human. :shrug who knew!!! Well no fear everyone, Bruno is being treated for his baterial virus and to be on the safe side for the strep virus too boot!!! :smile. So hopefully, everyone is on the road to recovery around our house :happydance!!!

Anyways it is New Years Eve :groupwave ~ do any of ya have plans??? Not us, staying inside, no driving, and hoping that the New Year brings in everyone healthy!!! :biggrin ~ but never fear everyone ~ I'm prepared with some friendly advise I'd like to share with everyone :drinking

The Joys Of The Holidays

| | Comments (4)

I'm still looking for these "joys" actually and as hard as I search I'm coming up empty. :shakehead So over my morning :coffee I figured I'd let you in on our challange to getting our house decorated.

But before we get into that drama ~ something mom sent to me this morning to start off my day with a smile :smile. Go check it out :lol

Christmas Is Over When???

| | Comments (1)

I've been busy trying to get myself into the "bah humbug" Christmas spirit. Hubby tried to kick me into gear this year by getting our lights up without me throwing a walled eyed fit ~ that is Texan terms for a temper tantrum :biggrin.

The one thing that I always get excited about is a gift since I've been married to Speedbump "mom" always gets me along with stocking me up on my perfume for the year to boot ~ for the record mom I'm slap out of my supply!!!

Welcome to the Christmas blog of Jet's Place ~ take a look around and visit the photoblog which has been updated also. Now since Martha Stewart obviously didn't do this, I have BETTER than Martha, I have Missy T :biggrin. So everyone give credit to Missy T not me on the blog ~ she is soo good to me :smile.

Anyhoot, also to bring in the yuletide season there is a tradition that Buffy over at Arrrggg always dreads is when Julie and I put our heads together and revamp Christmas songs :lol

The Christmas Season Is Upon Us

| | Comments (3)

Bahhh humbuggggggggg!!! I survived the kids out of school for the week of Thanksgiving "BARELY", in less than two weeks, they will be out of school for the Christmas holidays till January 5th. UUGGGHHHH ~ I don't have the nerves to withstand the kids home and trying to get things prepared for Christmas!!!

And following true to form this year, I'm very behind on the getting the house decorated. I think I've been married to Speedbump too long as he is rubbing off on me. However, this weekend I'm going to put my foot down about my Christmas lights!!!! The Christmas tree is always the last thing I purchase since we do a real tree and so not to attract the dogs to the tree, I wait until the week before Christmas before getting one up and decorated. Plus I have to rearrange my whole house just to fit a tree in here ~ moving furniture and the like ~ uugghhhhhh!!!!

Neither here nor there ~ it is fun watching the kids get all excited and want to do crafty things for Christmas ~ so all isn't bah humbug I guess ~ :smile.

My inlaws of course keep me laughing with funnies so I'll add one of them here today ~ enjoy!!!

Coming Up For Air ~

| | Comments (1)

And I bet all of you thought I hijacked Toby Keith and got lost somewhere along the way :biggrin. Well it wasn't lack of my trying on the hijacking issue, but did manage to get lost ~ well the girl that went to the football game with me lost her car ~ I'll get to that ~

Thanksgiving dinner was apparently a large hit with everyone because some of the people who had Thanksgiving dinner with us appeared the next night at our house looking for leftovers. Which is no problem since only Speedbump eats leftovers in this house ~ so no waste of food this year.

My friend and I headed out for the football game with full bellies and had a blast despite I froze my backside off ~ it was coooooolllllddddddd!!!! The group that we were sitting around were a blast!!! We had some Dolphin fans two rows ahead of us and a full line of die hard Dallas fans *which weren't hard on the eyes I might add* in the row right in front of me. Since Dallas couldn't find they ass through their elbows it was cause for some very interesting exchanges between the fans ~ I just sat there laughing and drinking my beer waiting for the whole reason I was in attendance to begin with ~ MY MAN!!!!

Thanksgiving Is Upon Us

| | Comments (5)

Ohhh boy let us all do the happy dance *note the huge sarcasm*!!! I'm never a found Thanksgiving person, espcially when I have to do the cooking!!! However, I do have my ducks in a row, or should I say "turkey", things are coming together nicely ~

I'm serving approximately 10 people or more ~ the menu consist of ~ the bird of course ~ ham, brocolli cassorle, my potatoe dish I'm famous for, corn and french green bean cassarole, rolls and if time allows fresh baked bread. For desert, since I HATE pumpkin pie, I'm making from scratch a cherry cheese cake with a fudge brownie crust.

Our plans are to eat around noon'ish since I have to head towards the football field around no later than 2. Why am I heading to the football field???

Well T'sey finally made it in last night :biggrin. She informed Little Ms. Prissy Princess on Friday she was heading into town and bringing her boys and I could have strangled T'sey for that ~ since Friday every other word out of Little Ms. Prissy Princess's mouth has been "Where is Aunt T'sey? She said she was going to be here" *gggrrr*.

This a.m., however, at 6:30 a.m. as I'm moaning groaning and bitching to unplug the alarm clock or throw it out the window - she announces "Damn Jamie you are bitchier than I remember in the a.m. aren't you?" Well yeah, how quickly we forget I don't do mornings!!!!

The kids seem to be having a great time and they are going to stay an extra night with us :smile. I'm looking forward to spending time with all of them today and having a blast.

T'sey of course looked at my computer and immediately started bitching about all the stuff I have on it - which is a normal bitch on her behalf when she visits - I heard her and Speed whispering about "do you think she'd notice if I did *this or this*?" My response of course is neither one of you better screw with my computer!!!!!!

Well I'm outta here to enjoy the rest of the day with the fam - have a great day everyone.

Corsets And The Like ~

| | Comments (3)

Men do you like a woman in a corset??? Women have you ever tried wearing a "true" corset???

I personally like the looks of a corset on me, why you wonder, well bascially because they give the air of boobs where none reside :biggrin. And they are also cheaper than a boob job. Yet, the down side of that issue is - you have to trade in breathing to have a great cleavage!!!! :angry

However, Victoria Secret has some great consulation prizes in the corset department that a woman can actually wear and breath while wearing :biggrin.

Not so long ago, I purchase one of the non breathable corsets. It is beautiful, black with royal blue pin stripes in it, but when I put it on to go out dancing one night I thought I was going to pass out for lack of oxgyen. Apparently, it was a HUGE hit with hubby, but being a huge hit and breathing, I'd rather breath!! I couldn't get the damn thing off fast enough let me tell ya!!!

Now for those of you that actually think I wore just the corset - damn get your minds out of the gutter :smile. I wore the corset and a pair of Roughrider jeans that are the exact color of the pin stripes in the corset with a see through black shirt over my shoulders to top it off with a pair of black heels. It actually looked good even with my critical eye but the whole lack of breathing became a HUGE issue very fast!!!

Why do women have to undergo such pain and agony to look good and men can just show up in a pair of tight jeans and freshly startched shirt and be watched and drewled over? That so bites!!!

As you can see there is no point to this blog but babble so I'll end with a question ~

Men - what do you like to see your "woman" dress in or out of?

Women - what do you like to see your "man" wear???

What A Weekend!!

| | Comments (8)

Believe it or not we survived Halloween and all it's wonderful glory - now I'm trying to find ways to hide all the candy that was collected so that it isn't enhaled by both kids behind my back causing dental issues around here :biggrin.

Last night hubby took me out dancing since my mother managed to really piss me off on the phone yesterday - letting me have it to start with because I dressed Little Ms. Prissy Princess as a witch!! :angry And needless to say the conversation went downhill quickly from there!!

Switching Life Up A Bit Around Here

| | Comments (5)

This past weekend Q15 and I had mother and son date. It was very enjoyable. We left out around mid afternoon to catch a book signing at the local Barnes and Noble where it was listed that Laurie Moore was going to be in attendance. I've posted about how much I enjoyed her book I read and she just recently came out with another one. However, when we got there she was not the one in attendance. I was very disappointed, but didn't let it alter my task for the day. So Q15 and I walked around looking at books and discussing what type books we enjoy reading and why and I got some great Christmas gift ideas. :smile

We left out of Barnes and Noble and decided to grab some lunch. Q15 LOVES Olive Garden and he asked if we could go there - so I agreed. We spent the next hour and half or so enjoying a nice lunch and plenty of talk about life, wishes, experiences and enjoying our time together. We were going to go catch a new movie called "Radio", however, our waiteress was slower than a old person with a walker, so we missed the show time. I told him if he wanted we could go home and go out later that night for the next showing and he said "No, lets just go home and rent a movie and curl up on the couch eating popcorn." So that is what we did after we both took a long nap - he one couch me on another.

Then on Sunday the whole family spent time together laying around, talking and playing and watching family related TV programs. However, hubby had to get in his "Cowboy" football fix - HA they lost and BADLY - did my heart good!!! :biggrin.

Hubby and I decided that we needed to spend more time like this and me spending more private time with Q15 since Little Ms. Prissy Princess pretty much dominates everyone's attention around this house.

We had a suprise that one of our friends was in town to see Alan Jackson in concert so we also enjoyed their company in the mix of all this relaxing weekend.

Speed seems to finally be adjusting to his medication and back to his normal self so that is good. However Sylvia the mere mention of you saying you'll fly over in your nurses outfit made him reconsider how good he felt in hopes he could con you into actually following through with it :lol. I think he just wants to see you in that nurses outfit if you ask me.

Next weekend is a busy weekend also - Friday is Halloween - Saturday is *hubby doesn't know it yet* but preparing to paint the master bedroom and prepare to paint the Barbie Snow Princess design in Little Ms. Prissy Princess room and then moving to Q15's room painting a baseball game in progress. And Sunday is the Washington Redskin and Dallas Cowboy game - Speed pulls for the cowboys and me the Redskin's :biggrin. We are also hoping our friends will be in town for this game which will make the weekend very interesting.....

Anyhoot - domestic duties call - hope everyone had a great weekend -

Tonight while watching one of my favorite shows "The West Wing", during commercial, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I turned to Speedbump with a horrified look which he quickly began questioning what was wrong ~ my response was ~ OMG I look like I'm six months pregnant.

Etiquette From Jet's Place

| | Comments (3)

Are you afraid yet???? :biggrin!!! Well in reading my favorite magazine Real Simple, I ran across an article called Tricky Food Etiquette. It describes how you should get rid of items like pits and or tails from shrimp at a cocktail party. If you are a higher class than I you probably already know this information, but considering, I'm a champagne lady on less than a beer budget, cocktail parties and myself don't cross paths often :smile.

Anyhoot, to the Etiquette items I found in the article. I can not find a place to link the article so I'm going to type it out and give credit to the author and magazine.

I'm Still Alive ~ I Think

| | Comments (3)

Well I'm crossing everything humanly possible to cross that Little Ms. Prissy Princess is FINALLY on the mend!!! Since she has started school she has had one sickness or another since the end of August. I've spent more time in a doctor's office over the past few weeks than I have ever cared to spend. However Little Ms. Prissy Princess thinks the doctor's office is the bomb. Personally, I think it is the constant dotting of the office personel in her direction, the suckers and stickers she gets and her trying to prove mama stupid from the photo's hanging on the wall. How does a 4 year old know so much about the human body??? So scary!!!

Anyhoot, I don't have much to discuss, but I do have some great jokes to share. I've finally weeded through my email from the past two weeks....

This Could Get VERY Lengthy.......

So grab your favorite :cocktail at the bar, sit in the comfy chairs, and read on if you are truly interested!!!

Tonight, with PMS’ing, alcohol and well just a complete dislike of human nature, I’m still wide-awake!!! “M” I can hear you now formulating you’re response privately….keep reading!!!

Believe it or not I'm working on a very very good post, which has NOTHING to do with my childhood for once, be happy trust me!!! It is an issue important to me not because of my beliefs, but because, it affects one of my dearest and most loyal friends. Regardless of my beliefs, I'm open minded to a degree, and I have had my eyes opened to this issue...........stay tuned.......I"m still in edit mode on that one :biggrin.

Big news on the Might T's server homestead, we now have Ms. Patti in our mist!!!! So now you have Speedbump *who's post are random at best*, Life Song *hey wake up over there okay alright already and post*, myself *aren't you so pleased*, T-Bone *hunk hunk of texas raw hide :wink*, and now MS PATTI!!!! All whom live in TEXAS!!!! Scary isn't it!!! *does bow to the madam *wicked giggle* Missy T*. You and Lori are amazing!!!!

Anyways.......question for parents out there ~ WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Posting Nakkid ~ Why You Ask?

| | Comments (10)

Well here in Texas the heat is murder ~ this article sums up the heat we are enduring lately!!! So the thought of stepping outside your house is not the smartest move one could make these days.

Today, however, I had to get all the school physicals out of the way and was dreading venturing out into the heat until my day got worse!!!

I'm walking around in a very cool house picking up after the kids and taking a little relaxer deciding where exactly it is 5 o'clock somewhere to enjoy a refreshing :cocktail when the house starts feeling stuffy and hot. I walk in the kitchen and decide that a tall glass of ice water sounds better than a :cocktail at the moment, because I must be going through the change VERY early in life to go from comfortable surroundings to sweating my butt off.

It was in the kitchen where it hit me, from the ceiling, a exteremly hot gush of air blowing through our vents like it was freezing outside in efforts to keep us warm inside..........EXCUSE ME IT IS SUMMER HERE!!!

Yupe you guessed it our airconditiong blew out today!!! It is really a toss up right now to which place is cooler inside or out ~ so here I am blogging nakkid!!! :lol

We have the air people here now after waiting for hours for them to get to us :angry.

In case I have not announced it here I GOT MY TOBY KEITH TICKETS!!! :banana YEAH BABY!!! I can't wait till next weekend and listen to that gorgeous hunk of male flesh is singing his soul out :smile.

And for the record, Patty and T-Bone ~ it is that time!!!! We either need to meet under the water tower in Watagua as Patty suggested or else we need to put our schedules together and work out an afternoon for our 5 o'clock :cocktail hour!!!

Tiz all the news on this home front for now ~ I think I'm going to try the pool for a cooling session!!!

SOME DAYS ARE A WASTE OF MAKEUP!!!!

Red BathingSuit.jpg

When It Rains It Pours ~

| | Comments (3)

Well in Texas it is bloody HOT HOT HOT!!!! So I make the fatal mistake of deciding to take both kids shopping for school clothes!!! :brick WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!! Since this is Little Ms. Prissy Princess's first year, she is rather excited, so after getting home with her backpack, lunch box and new clothes in tow she decided "HEY it is time to go to school" ~ so the rest of my day was listening to her every 5 seconds "Mom is it time to leave for school yet?" :errrr

So once I got that issue taken care of for a wee bit ~ I decided to go looking for my Toby Keith tickets and well also druel over his photo :biggrin. A woman needs some pleasure in her life you know :smile. Found on ebay a GREAT pair of tickets SECOND ROW seating :mouse only to further read they are not seats together :fdup. However, when Speedbump got home, he said that wasn't such a bad thing because on the off chance Toby came within touching distances I'd save his feelings by not saying directly to him "Here take my wedding ring and act like you don't know me" :biggrin. I'd not do anything like that 033102angel_1_prv[1].gif!!!

So hubby and I are in here discussing my options on my pending ticket purchase and trying to find out the best seating in a section together when we hear a crash outside where the kids were playing.

Q14 walks in after Little Ms. Prissy Princess runs like a bat of hell and hides and says "Ummmmm dad we have a problem I think" ~ Speedbump and I look at him waiting to hear what the "I think" problem is ~ nuthing!!! So Speed says "Well son what is it" ~ Little Ms Prissy announces "It was an accident daddy I swear" ~ Never a good sign at our house when that is the second sentence out of a childs mouth.....

Anyhoot, to sum up our night, our garage door slammed shut with both cars locked safely inside. Which it is suppose to do right? Well it is also suppose to open back up and well it doesn't!!! So for the last 2 hours we've been tugging ~ lifting ~ forcing ~ and prodding our garage door up so we can get our cars out for tomorrow until we can get it fixed ~ in what feels like 120 degree heat!!!

I think I deserve a :cocktail!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone in the surrounding area know of a good garage door fixer upper who won't break the depleated bank account???? Because the prices quoted thus far I see my Toby Keith tickets fading quickly in the background ~ I swear I should have bought them before Speedbump got home!!!! :wink

Hope everyone's day was better than mine and Lord knows I hope tomorrow night is luckier than tonights!!!! Grab a :cocktail at the bar their on me!!!

SOME DAYS ARE A WASTE OF MAKEUP!!!

Red BathingSuit.jpg

Computer talk about relationships...........:biggrin well I'll let the email I received today speak for itself!!!

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NHL 4.3, MLB 3.0, and NBA 3.6.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,
