Surviving Adversity

| | Comments (2)

I was seriously going to write a funny post when I updated about my last outing to the sex store, however, a movie I watched tonight put things into perspective for me that it seemed more important to post about this issue tonight.

Tonight I watched a very depressing, yet very uplifting movie, on Lifetime ~ better known by my husband's words "Male Bashing Channel For Women". :confused11 Regardless his opinion, tonight even he watched the movie, okay except the ending.

Before I tell you the name of the movie let me tell you it's meaning. It showed a single mother of four raising her children and how close they were as a family and then she became very ill. This illness drew them even closer together as a family, and her being a school teacher brought other students closer into the fold. The mother overcomes the battle laid before her with the help of her children only to have the unthinkable happen............

COLUMBINE!!!!!!!

Yes, the story is a true story of a family who lost one of the members to the horrific events that surrounded the lack of parental supervision and gun control.......a travesty!!!!!

As a mother, my largest fear is getting that phone call, something beyond my control (and we all know I how I HAVE to OBTAIN CONTROL AT ALL TIMES) could very well indeed happen.

With the never ending hate that seems to be festering within not only American's but other countries against any human that does not believe or look the same as they do, how could one not fear for the safety of whom they hold most dear in their life........the reason for living and what makes the world go round our children?????

Yet, we can not live in fear, nor can we as a society or as human beings live in hate, fear or resentment ~ we must look at the good in our lives ~ not only look at it but treasure it. Every laugh, every smile, every I love you "just because", every joke and yes every pit fall and heartbreak and least we not forget every arguement. We must learn to thrive from these issues and learn to love one another as "people". People whom we found a place in our hearts that we allowed them to touch, rather it be for an hour, a moment or a life time, they touched us, they taught us and we will continually learn from that experience.

In my experience, I have come across a multipule of people whom have touched me in my life ~ some good and well some not so good ~ yet lessons learned. However, I'll stick with the good ~ I have friends that I have met on this box that have traveled across oceans to spend a holiday with my family and whom I call not only friend but "mom" to boot ~ I have friends who live in the States that, just as I would do for them, they do for me and my family, are there at a phone call when needed or a message and respond quickly for cries of help and understanding.

I have friends who live an alternate life style whom I have seen hurt, scorned *yes even at times even by me*, yet they still call me friend and I them and would be there for them at any given moment if needed!!!!

But the core of this post is what was said at the end of the movie ~ I can't remember the name they called it, however, I do remember the definition of the word.........the roots of trees all coming together and joining as one. Now there is a puzzler for all you highly educational folks out there :smile.

With all the evil in the world surrounding us and the acts of human nature that devsate families in an instant how can anyone call someone white, black, tan, purple or blue??? How can anyone call someone right or wrong for loving a man or woman rather the person they love is man or woman????? How can any of us judge and then expected not to be judged?????

In the end all of our roots join up together and we are joined and everyone's blood that bleeds is red at the end of the day!!!!

And if anyone doubts what friends I have, take a look around the blogs you read.............Arrrrggggghhhh is one of my "mom's", Sylvia is one of my "mom's" whom doesn't have a blog yet, Ms. Thang whom has a blog and never updates, Bitchy Chick whom I adore, Ms. Duck Tape Queen who is always there to correct my biggest goofs and typo's yet never lets me hear the end of it ~ woman I LOVE YA ~ btw update your damn blog why don't ya ~ KG ~ my bitch whom has gone MIA ~ for the record I miss you!!! T'sey where do I begin????????????? Other than I miss the hell out of you woman and love you dearly ~ Ran the bitch who keeps me on my toes and Whitger who threw away her souviner *however you spell it* from her trip to Texas *HUMPF* ~ and one I've never met on Strickly Therapy whom needs to update and T-Bone whom I have met and we so need another lunch soon.......the list could go on and on........bottom line is this...........all of our roots eventually grow together and without one another we would weither and die that is what is called family and most importantly that is called friendship.........

Like the title states................food for thought and yes Gary that goes for you too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biggrin

The name of the movie is called "Dawn Anna" on Lifetime Network Channel!!! It is worth the watch I promise!

Nite all
