I know! Can you believe the nerve of them?? I truly hope people walk out tomorrow...
The best way to hit any religious institution is right in their wallets. Too bad they won't make a mention against same-sex marriages *BEFORE* the collection. They'll never pull a stunt like that again.
Pretty sad how they need to distract everyone, rather than deal with the original issue at hand.
Yep! Stupid ignorant crap!! They expect people to follow them? I think NOT!
*Sigh* I grew up Catholic. My mother and my sister are still very devout. I can't remember the last time I entered a Catholic church, even for a wedding. We certainly don't discuss religion, because I'm a family disappointment there! Oh well.
The church's stand on gay anything was one of the reasons I refused to go back (Especially since we've all known for years that many priests were gay, talk about hypocritical!). There are other things that pushed me out, but that tops the list.
Now they are actively speaking out against gay marriage, in what I consider an attempt to, as -e- said, distract parishoners, distract them from the scandolous behaviour of their priests. Unfortunately, it's a tactic I've seen them use before. There always has to be a scapegoat. Hopefully, people will see through it and boycott or at least stop contributing financially!
I agree with all you.the churches are getting freakin crazy these days
